I rang up OAPL in Myaree and requested them if I could purchase an Ankle brace. I was informed by Lyn that I would have to come in for a consultation. I requested Lyn as to the cost of the consultation and she informed me that it was subject to the time taken. I again requested the cost of the consultation and was again informed it depended on the time taken. As a normal chemist fits the ankle brace in 5 mins with no charges I was expecting this to be the case with OAPL. When I arrived at OAPL I was met by Lyn who informed me Chloe would do the consultation. Chloe took a couple of minutes to measure my ankle and came out with 2 braces. Fitted me out with one brace and finished in 10 minutes. I then got the invoice and was amazed to learn that I was charged $75/- for the consultation there would be no refund from Medibank for their services. When I queried this with Lyn I was informed that she did not know how long the consultation would take “WOW”. I have news for you Lyn a normal Chemist takes 5 to 10 minutes to fit the brace and charges nothing, secondly Medibank should never certify your services. To top it all I got a text saying that I had a further appointment on the 15th and if I did not show up I would be charged in full. I was lucky I could cancel the appointment. Be aware when dealing with this practice. After getting the response from the manager. I would like to inform the manager that it is not rocket science to fit an ankle brace. Learn to make money the old fashioned way, work for it

The technicians are very nice but the reception staff is not nice

Oapl have been so helpful, kind, and informative while helping me get my first pair of AFOs. I really appreciate them for providing me with the opportunity to feel comfortable and more independent. Chloe is so great, she is so helpful.
